MALACCA: For video recording his 12-year-old daughter in the bathroom, wrapped in a towel, a father was sentenced to six days' jail and fined RM1,400 by the magistrate's court yesterday.

Magistrate Syajaratudur Abd Rahman sentenced the 40-year-old man from Umbai, Jasin, after he pleaded guilty to:

USING a mobile phone Sony Ericsson W580i to record a video of his daughter in a house in Jalan Pulau Gadong, Klebang Besar at 2.30pm on Jan 24; and,

POSSESSING obscene material.

According to the facts, his wife took the accused's mobile phone from their 4-year-old son and found pictures of her daughter wrapped in a towel while brushing her teeth.

Counsel Ishak Kari pleaded for a light sentence saying that his client was only a factory worker, earning less than RM1,000 a month.

Apa yang aku nak cakap adalah apa ke bangang punya bapak? Dah la anak sendiri, baru 12 tahun pulak tu.

Naseb baik la anak dia pakai tuala. Maha bangang punya bapak!!!
